In March of 2022 our Mom was diagnosed with ALS. For anyone who has the joy of knowing our Mom, her vibrant energy and "get up and go" attitude have always been the driving force in our family. Mom is up for anything, especially if it involved ice cream and road trips.
Our Mom has managed her diagnosis and subsequent changes with her typical grace and positivity. Never one to complain, Mom has put her energy into making every moment count.
This is why we walk this year - to bring awareness and support research efforts to hopefully one day find a cure for ALS. We've seen proof that that "Ice Bucket Challenge" had an impact on funding for research and we hope to encourage this to continue.
Our goal is to raise $1,000 this year. We welcome you to join our team and walk with us, or donate. Any amount helps!
ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
