This is our 9th year Marching for Magenta in memory of the best and bravest mom in the world. Our mom courageously fought a 7 year battle and never let the this debilitating disease dim her light. Anyone who knew Sindy Weiner knew that her creative mind was just one of her many amazing attributes. What started as bedtime stories about a fictitious girl named Magenta, turned into two amazing children's books that have brought smiles into so many homes. Magenta Purple is a representation of our mom's sharp wit, vivid imagination, and tremendous talent. We made a promise to our mom that we will never stop raising awareness and supporting the fight for a cure - and that is why we continue Marching for Magenta. Please join us!
Why We Need Your Help
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
