On Saturday, September 16, 2023, our family, friends, and members of the community will be participating in the annual Walk to Defeat ALS at Elk Grove Regional Park. We continue to walk in honor of our dearest James (Tops) Morgan and carry on the legacy of our beloved Judy Morgan in order to continue making an impact on this devastating disease. We would love to have you join the James Tops Morgan Team, and help us support our mission!

"While other teens were waking up to the beeping of alarm clocks and the clanking of dishes, my brother and I were waking up to drum solos by Gene Krupa or the melodic 50’s sounds of Brenda Lee. Having played the saxophone and having grown up with Charlie Parker’s jazz and Glen Miller’s big band, our dad not only loved listening to music and collecting music, but also passing on his love of music to us and later to his grandchildren. As he grew older, his love of music varied from the country twang of Willie Nelson and the folksie feel of Jim Croce, to the bops of our teen music of Culture Club and Huey Lewis and the News. Unfortunately, on November 20, 2006, the music stopped; our dad’s song was cut short by his battle with ALS. Heartbroken, yet determined, for the next 10 years until her own death, our mom set out to help raise money for research to find a cure, to not only continue my dad’s song, but to ensure that the songs of countless others may live on."
