Welcome to our 2021 Team Wappelhorst site! This year will mark Team Wappelhorst's 10th year in the ALS St. Louis Walk. Paul's courage and strength continue to inspire us. We miss him dearly and we walk in hopes that a cure will be found for all battling ALS. Thank you for helping us reach our Walk to Defeat ALS® fundraising goal! This is an exciting opportunity for us to work together to support those affected by Lou Gehrig's Disease and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
Walking with Team Wappelhorst in the ALS Walk the past 10 years has been an amazing experience. Hundreds of walkers have joined Team Wappelhorst throughout the years to raise thousands of dollars for ALS research and support. We are trying to beat our records from last year and every walker and every dollar helps.
This year is a unique challenge because of the restrictions we face during this pandemic, but we will all walk in our own neighborhoods and parks in support of Paul and an end to ALS. Your registration to walk "virtually" matters more than ever and your fundraising efforts are greatly needed.
6,000 people are disagnosed with ALS each year and nearly 20,000 Americans are living with ALS today. These are more than statistics to us, because they affect someone we love.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease though support is bringing researchers closer to an answer. In the mean time it costs an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
Please join Team Wappelhorst and help us make a difference!
