Thank you for visiting the Home page of Brian's Krewe. We would appreciate any donations you can make to help us reach our goal.
Brian died six years ago in May. He is truly missed by all who knew him. He brought a lot into so many peoples lives. He was very passionate about raising money for the ALS Association and so am I. The ALS Association not only gives to the research teams but they also give to the people and families who have this horrible disease ALS. They helped us so much and I could never do enough to pay back what they did. I still know people with this disease and I want them to receive the help and support that we did. Please consider making a donation.
Brian's story.
My husband, Brian Laux was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in November 2011. It started with his speech. He had to quit working July 2012 as his strength was going. His hands were starting to drop things and not be able to grip like they should. He continued to cook and bake to keep busy.
He was not able to talk so he used a number of different writing instruments including white boards and a boogie board until February when he got a Mobi 2. The Mobi allowed him to type what he wanted to say and it would say it. This allowed him to communicate in person, text and talk on the phone.
The disease moved to his lungs. He was in the hospital three times since November 2012, two times in February alone. Most of the time, he felt okay, just weak and short of breath.
On April 7, 2013 Brian was baptized. He was at peace. On May 5, 2013 he loss his battle.
The ALS Association was always there for us the whole time Brian was ill. They provided information, formula and equipment when he needed it. They were a very big help. They are still there for me, calling and emailing to check on me.
I would like to see Brian's Krewe raise their goal of $2,500 this year. This is a very important cause. I am picking up from our Walk last year trying to get our Krewe together and our goals met. I feel the same way as Brian about this great organization. They do such good work, not only helping patients and family but also provide money for research.
Please consider clicking on a name below and donating. Every dollar helps.
Thanks again for visiting Brian's Krewe.
Join our team if you would like to. We can use all the walkers, virtual or real, as we can get. We want to raise as much money as possible.
In Memory of Brian Laux, we WILL WALK.
