Craig's Crusaders are at it again!
Please join us in the Walk to Defeat ALS Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Ontario Beach Park to help raise money and awareness for the ALS Association. It's a week earlier this year. Check in starts at 9:30am and the walk begins at 11:00am. We hope to you there!
Again this year, Craig's Crusaders will be walking in memory of our loved and fearless leader,
Craig Thomas Michaloski
A little about our hero, Craig
Craig passed away February 4, 2012 after a courageous battle with ALS; a battle he fought with spirit and dignity, without ever losing his incredible sense of humor. He loved baseball, golfing, and skiing, and delighted in the time spent fishing at the cottage with his family and friends. Craig dedicated 25 years of his life to his love of farming at Green Acre Fruit Farm. He was an extraordinary husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and coach. He will always be loved and sadly missed.
Why should you donate to Craig's Crusaders?
Please join Craig's Crusaders and/or make a donation to our team to help find a cure for ALS. The money raised through this event goes toward research to find a cure for this awful disease and toward people living with ALS and their families who need support. We can attest to this! While Craig was fighting this disease, the ALS Association was able to provide important medical equipment free of charge, information for patients and caregivers, support group meetings, and even aides for respite care. To families in need who are struggling to accept the reality of this horrid disease, every penny makes a difference.
Why should you walk with Craig's Crusaders?
Craig's Crusaders will walk for Craig Michaloski because he can't be here to walk himself. We walk to spend time together with family and friends, and meet new friends. We walk to remember what an incredible, irreplaceable person Craig Michaloski was. We walk to honor the strength, dignity, pride, and honor he showed and gave to all who were lucky enough to know him. We walk to bring awareness and hope to this awful disease. We walk to raise money to help find a cure so that someday other families and friends wont have to experience this disease and all the heartbreak that comes with it. Walk with us in memory of Craig.
Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at Ontario Beach Park for the Walk to Defeat ALS on September 21, 2019

Why We Need Your Help. Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries. This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need.
