ABOUT ELANA
Elana Donde was a 50 year old single mother of two daughters (ages 25 and 21), who always dreamed of becoming a lawyer. When her daughters became adults, she decided to pursue her dreams. Two years into her law school journey she was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) on August 24, 2022. Due to the disease, Elana had to withdraw from law school and postpone all her dreams and aspirations. Every day and every week continuously got harder as the disease progressed. On May 22, 2024, just twenty-one months after her diagnosis, Elana won her battle against ALS and gained her angel wings. When Elana helped create her Walk to Defeat ALS team name and campaign last year she said, "Please help support funding to find a cure for this rapidly declining death sentence."
Join us in the Nashville Walk to Defeat ALS on October 26, 2024 at Centennial Park Bandshell- in honor of Elana.
While we grieve the loss of her presence on earth, we celebrate the well deserved freedom from pain and suffering that she has gained. Elana was the definition of an authentic, hard working, and passionate person who incessantly fought for what she believed in. We now must continue her legacy and find a cure in honor of her. Please join us in endlessly advocating for increased education about the disease and funding research for a cure.

ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
