ED'S WALKING WARRIORS
This team was created in support of Ed Coyle who was diagnosed with ALS in February 2014. Since then, we have been battling this disease together as a family. Ed is cared for at home by his loving wife, Susanne. Ed's three children, in-laws, and five grandchildren will be walking in his honor.
The Western Maryland Walk to Defeat ALS is at Baker Park in Frederick, MD, on September 28, 2024. Funds raised will remain within our local chapter and go towards research and patient support services. This organization has been tremendously helpful to our family. Everyone we have worked with has been very knowledgeable and empathetic. They have provided us with equipment and resources. We are extremely grateful for their generosity.
We invite you to walk with us on September 28th. If you are unable to join our team, perhaps you would consider giving a financial donation. Together we can help touch the lives of all ALS patients and their families within our local area to ensure everyone gets the same resources that we have been blessed with.
Thanks in advance for your love, support and prayers.

Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
