Two Ways to Walk, One Cause: End ALS
Welcome 2022 Walkers! We are so excited to have you visiting this page to learn more about our Walk to Defeat ALS - whether you are registering, making a donation, looking to volunteer, or just simply wanting to see what we are all about: welcome!
After creating an award-winning Mini-Walk program that we have implemented the past two years (2020 and 2021), we are thrilled to announce that in 2022 teams get to choose how they want to Walk to Defeat ALS: Everyone is invited to the Walk to Defeat ALS at Dodds Park in Champaign on Saturday, September 17th.
You team is also welcome to host their own Mini-Walk to Defeat ALS at the location and date of your choosing. Mini-Walk team captains will receive a supply box to help make their Mini-Walk a success. So, regardless of how you want to participate, we have options for you and can't wait to work alongside you in the fight against ALS this fall!
Thanks,
Sam, Kendra, and the entire Greater Chicago Staff Team

After three years of being superheroes, we are thrilled to announce that the theme for our 2022 Walk to Defeat ALS is: Sunflower Field of Dreams.
As many of you know, the sunflower is the official symbol of The ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter. We incorporate the sunflower in many aspects of our chapter from the Sunflower Station at events to Season’s Sunflower Hour (our bi-monthly live show on Twitch) to our recurring gifts program, Operation Sunflower, and more! The “Field of Dreams” is a nod to baseball and the original Iron Horse himself, Lou Gehrig.
Thank you to our Ambassadors for their input and guidance when choosing our theme! The possibilities to incorporate this unique and fitting theme in your team names, tent decorations, team shirts, and more is endless. We hope you love it as much as us and we look forward to fighting back against ALS with you in a Sunflower Field of Dreams!
