I am MOVING again this year in the memory of my Aunt Susan and my cousin Sue. I also MOVE for all the brave and inspirational ALS patients I have met across BC.
The Move to Cure ALS (previously Walk to End ALS) is the annual fundraising event for the ALS Society of BC. People come together to “Move”; walking, running, riding, rolling, supporting or being present. Funds raised go to support people living with ALS in BC and the Yukon, and to support research through PROJECT HOPE.
PATIENT SERVICES – 60% of proceeds supports people living with ALS and their families. These services include; the equipment loan program, support groups, psychological support, kids camp, referrals to local health care and community services, educational information and mobile clinics. RESEARCH – 40% of proceeds to Vancouver based Project Hope. An initial $20M goal has been set for PROJECT HOPE to end ALS through the establishment of a world class ALS Centre at UBC.
