Hi Friends and Family!
Help us remember my dad and raise money to cure ALS
In January 2021 My dad (Alan) began experiencing a change in his health. The rest of the year would be spent seeing multiple doctor's, medical tests and declining health. On January 6,2022, Alan would receive a diagnosis we could never have anticipated - he was diagnosed with ALS. Sadly, I will always remember the broken look on his face.
When Alan was first diagnosed with ALS he didn't want anyone to know! Four months later, Alan watched Calgary Flame's Assistant General Manager Chris Snow talking about his fight to live with ALS. It was then Alan decided he needed to fight to live and do what he could to raise money and awareness to help find a CURE for this horrible disease.
After learning about The Move to Cure ALS - Alan chose this event to start his fight. He asked all of his family and friends to support him in his fight to raise money by coming out and walk/run/roll with him at the Move to Cure ALS.
We watched Alan fight to live for the next 19 months. He valiantly fought everyday to live - all the while fighting to walk, eat and breathe. He spent every day with his family and extended family - his friends.
On July 10, 2023 Alan's battle with ALS ended. With crushed hearts, we had to say good bye to our beloved husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He asked us to keep his fight going until there is a cure!
