2024 Move to Cure ALS - Surrey

King Ricky

Join me on this walk and supporting ALS again for second year! As many of you know this cause is very personal and dear to my heart as I'm sure for many of you as well, whom Ricky touched so many lives whether in a small or big way. It will be about 18 months in May this year since we lost Ricky to this terrible disease. Please join me and my family on the second year participating in this event as for some it may be your second time too, but please if you can help in anyway with donations and/or "walking to cure ALS," I would greatly appreciate it. I'm sure Ricky too would be very grateful and honoured to have had people coming together and giving your support. These funds that we can raise together I know first hand will greatly benefit families living with ALS to help make life somewhat easier and hopefully one day work towards finding a cure to end ALS. Let's donate and walk in memory of Ricky who was a kind, helpful, hard working and generous man, husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. Thank you so much everyone for your continuous, consistent and genuine love and support for myself and my kids and to keeping Ricky's memory alive. Go Team King Ricky!

The Move to Cure ALS is the signature fundraising event for the ALS Society of British Columbia, which brings together family and friends in support of ALS. People come together to “Move”; be it walking, running, rolling, supporting or being present. Funds raised go to support people living with ALS in BC and the Yukon, and to support research through PROJECT HOPE.

The Move to Cure ALS is a fun, family-friendly way to celebrate hope for a future without ALS, honor those we have loved and lost, and show support for Canadians and their families living with the disease.

Our goal is to end ALS through creating a world class ALS Centre at UBC. 100% of the proceeds from the Move to Cure ALS will remain in BC to support patient services programs (60%) and research (40%) through PROJECT HOPE.

In 2023, events across the province will be taking place! Join us virtually or in person to help move towards a cure for ALS. We’re all in this together, because ALS doesn’t stop, and neither will we.
