2023 Move to Cure ALS

Movin' For Marion

I've recreated our team Movin' for Marion again this year, in honour of my mom Marion Bremner. Marion was diagnosed with ALS in 2022 and passed away in March of this year.

Marion had dedicated her life to community service, including being elected as a city councillor for 11 years, as a director for Habitat for Humanity Canada and International, she initiated Habitat for Humanity Kelowna, volunteered with numerous non profits, and ran the local Kelowna Meals on Wheels for more than 20 years.

If you're not able to make it out, please consider making a donation to the ALS Society through our team Movin' for Marion. Thank you!

Everyone is welcome! Please feel free to invite others.

More about the event:

The Move to Cure ALS is the signature fundraising event for the ALS Society of British Columbia, which brings together family and friends in support of ALS. People come together to “Move”; be it walking, running, rolling, supporting or being present. Funds raised go to support people living with ALS in BC and the Yukon, and to support research through PROJECT HOPE.

The Move to Cure ALS is a fun, family-friendly way to celebrate hope for a future without ALS, honor those we have loved and lost, and show support for Canadians and their families living with the disease.

Our goal is to end ALS through creating a world class ALS Centre at UBC. 100% of the proceeds from the Move to Cure ALS will remain in BC to support patient services programs (60%) and research (40%) through PROJECT HOPE.

In 2023, events across the province will be taking place! Join us virtually or in person to help move towards a cure for ALS. We’re all in this together, because ALS doesn’t stop, and neither will we.
