About the Move to Cure ALS
The Move to Cure ALS is the signature fundraising event for the ALS Society of British Columbia, which brings together family and friends in support of ALS. People come together to “Move”; be it walking, running, rolling, supporting or being present. Funds raised go to support people living with ALS in BC and the Yukon, and to support research through PROJECT HOPE. The newly Move to Cure ALS is a fun, family-friendly way to celebrate hope for a future without ALS, honor those we have loved and lost, and show support for the 3,000 Canadians and their families living with the disease. In 2022, events across the province will be taking place in person again providing COVID-19 Provincial Guidelines permit!
Our goal is to end ALS through creating a world class ALS Centre at UBC. We are excited that this year, 100% of the proceeds from the Move to Cure ALS will remain in BC to support patient services programs (60%) and research (40%) through PROJECT HOPE. Join us virtually or in person this year to move together towards a cure for ALS. We’re all in this together, because ALS doesn’t stop, and neither will we.
To register for the Move To Cure ALS, simply find your location from around the province and follow the registration process or log in to your account from previous years located about the top right registration button!
On the day of the in-person & Virtual events, share a photo or video from your Walk, and post it on your fundraising page or share it on social media. Feel free to get creative with activities aside from walking—we’d love to see your ideas! We want to hear who you are moving for this year. Be sure to tag us on Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and Twitter) @ALSBC. #MovetoCureALS
