Don't let cuts in Ryan White Program funding impact our community — Support AIDS Project Los Angeles
Several weeks ago, the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) which administers the Ryan White Program announced it will cut millions in funding for HIV/AIDS programs across the country. The cuts are a response to mandatory federal deficit reductions otherwise known as “sequestration.” And the impact of those cuts will be felt right here in Los Angeles.
In response, the County of Los Angeles Division of HIV and STD Programs (DHSP) just announced a reduction of 6.4% to their contracts for the remainder of the current funding year. If APLA suffers a 6.4% cut to its programs, that would mean a reduction in funding of $296,121.
