Family Learn to Shellfish Program
Onset Bay Center

BBAug20_discover
Learn how to dig your own quahogs (hard clams) from Onset Bay! During this free event at Burgess Point with the Onset Bay Center, we’ll teach you the basics of local quahogging: what you need, how to do it, and where to go. This will be a fun and educational activity for the whole family!

Please dress to get wet and muddy. If you have a TOWN shellfishing permit, you will be allowed to keep the quahogs you catch; otherwise, this will be a catch-and-release event. The Coalition will provide all necessary equipment (rakes, peck baskets, and gauges) for you to use. You are welcome to bring your own hip boots, waders, or other equipment. This FREE program is geared toward families with children 8+.
