Set on the beautiful South Coast of Massachusetts, the Buzzards Bay Swim is an exciting point-to-point open water swim from New Bedford to Fairhaven, MA. Assisted by a robust safety patrol, swimmers navigate 1.2 miles through the scenic outer harbor, passing by the iconic Butler Flats Lighthouse and the New Bedford Hurricane Barrier, one of the largest stone structures on the East Coast. At the fun and festive finish line, swimmers arrive at a beach party featuring a live steel drum band, pancakes cooked to order, gourmet coffee, free massages, and local beer!

Registration Fee: $15 by Feb 1; $20 by May 1, $25 by June 27. Fee and $150 fundraising minimum (pay-or-raise) includes SWAG: a collectible modern cut event t-shirt, keepsake swim cap, bronze lighthouse finishers medal, post-race massage, free parking, shuttle service, bag check, chip timing, age group awards in 5-year increments, prizes for fundraising and participation in 5, 10, or 20 swims, and refreshments on both sides of the harbor. Qualifications apply. Special rates available for youth teams, contact events@savebuzzardsbay.org.

Swimmers protect clean water by fundraising to supporting the Buzzards Bay Coalition's work across land protection, science, advocacy, and education. Team participation is welcome and encouraged to help #SAVEBUZZARDSBAY!

"My friend and I were first-time swimmers, and we had a blast! We felt so encouraged and welcomed by every single person at the event. We will definitely be back next year!"
