I swim several times a week throughout the year -- during the summers out in those beautiful, salty, local waters, and in the winter months at the New Bedford YMCA. So during the spring, to prepare psychologically for the event I simply tell myself that it's just another swim. But when that Saturday in June rolls around, in fact it's anything but that. Arriving early to join a gathering crowd of over one thousand -- swimmers, Coalition staff and volunteers, families, friends, well-wishers, kayak assistants, Coast Guard patrols, etc., all of whom are there to make this amazing community event happen -- is completely exhilarating and fun. You all are welcome to come join in the excitement!

Together we continue to make a big contribution to protecting and preserving the health of our coastal waters. You are an amazing group of people!
