Wait! What?! I'm swimming?! Whose idea was this?!?!
The last time I swam from one end of a pool to the other was my CIT year at Massasoit. If my math is right that was the summer of 1991! Two months ago today on April 4, I swam my first 25 yards in 32 years (GULP).
Grief changes you. You fear things you never did before and also are fearless about things that may have crippled you before your loss.
I grew up swimming in Buzzards Bay. When I left Massasoit I was a shark (for those of you that remember when the Y levels were fish). On June 24th I am going to try to be a shark again and swim the Buzzards Bay Swim in honor of Emma and OUR lifelong love of the Bay.
