Welcome to Sam's Buzzards Bay Swim page!

I'll be swimming 1.2 miles across Buzzards Bay (New Bedford to Fairhaven) on Saturday, June 27 with Katie, my swim buddy from high school. We started our open water swims in 2010 swimming across Narragansett Bay, and this will be our 5th time swimming across Buzzards Bay. We'll be swimming with hundreds of other swimmers to raise funds for and spread awareness of the need to protect clean water in our community.
Buzzards Bay is one of the most beautiful coastal waterways on the East Coast, but it's under constant threat from dangers like nitrogen pollution, oil spills, and disappearing forests and wetlands.
One small donation at a time, over 27 years, swimmers like me have raised more than a million dollars to fight pollution, permanently protect natural areas, harness the power of science, and increase access to the outdoors for all people.
Through this challenging event, I'm hoping to raise funds for the Buzzards Bay Coalition's conservation, research, advocacy, and education work. Your donation will truly make a difference in helping to protect clean water for us all and for future generations!
Thank you for your support!
P.S. You can join me at the Swim on June 27 from 7-11am -- there's a breakfast beach party at Fort Phoenix in Fairhaven that's open to everyone. Hope to see you there!
If you prefer not to donate online, you can fill out this form and return it along with your payment to the Buzzards Bay Coalition, 114 Front Street, New Bedford, MA 02740. If you're sending a check, please make sure the swimmer's name is written on the check.
