I'm swimming for clean water at the Buzzards Bay Swim!

Hi! I'm Erik. I work as a paramedic in eastern Massachusetts, and enjoy an eclectic mix of hobbies, from swimming, to horseback riding, to singing and playing ice hockey.
I grew up primarily here in Massachusetts, exploring and enjoying a wonderful spectrum of open, wild spaces to enjoy - everything from the Berkshire mountains to the Atlantic coast of Cape Cod. So much great work has been done in my lifetime to improve the health of our forests, wetlands, and waterways, but there is always more to do, and the region's ecosystem continues to be at risk from dangers like nitrogen pollution, oil spills, and disappearing forests and wetlands. Recent rollbacks of environmental protection laws have increased this risk further. There is a chance that we could lose thirty years of progress in the blink of an eye, and lose some of our finest natural resources.
Buzzards' Bay is one of those fine resources. You can help save Buzzards Bay by donating to my upcoming Buzzards Bay Swim on Saturday, June 27. I’ll be doing my part by joining hundreds of others in swimming 1.2 miles across outer New Bedford Harbor as we raise funds for and awareness of the need to protect clean water in our community.
Through this challenging event, I'm hoping to meet or exceed my fundraising goal to support the Buzzards Bay Coalition's important work across conservation, research, advocacy, and education. Any amount - big or small - truly makes a difference in helping to protect clean water for today, and for future generations.
Thank you for your support!
If you prefer not to donate online, you can fill out this form and return it along with your payment to the Buzzards Bay Coalition, 114 Front Street, New Bedford, MA 02740. If you're sending a check, please make sure the swimmer's name is written on the check.
