My second Swim to Save Buzzards Bay!
I'll be participating in my second, and 31st for the event, Swim to Save Buzzards Bay. This is challenging and energetic event to help the effort to save one of the most beautiful coastal waterways on the East Coast. Buzzards Bay is under constant threat from dangers like nitrogen pollution, oil spills, and disappearing forests and wetlands. As with all coastal waterways with such natural beauty and commercial value, climate change is wreaking havoc in a multitude of disastrously impactful ways.
You can help protect Buzzards Bay by donating to my upcoming Buzzards Bay Swim on Saturday, June 22. I’ll be doing my part by joining hundreds of others in swimming 1.2 miles across outer New Bedford Harbor as we raise funds for and awareness of the need to protect clean water in our community.
I'm hoping to meet or exceed my fundraising goal of $2500 to support the Buzzards Bay Coalition's important work across conservation, research, advocacy, and education. Any amount - big or small - truly makes a difference in helping to protect clean water for today, and for future generations.
With personal thanks for your support,
David
P.S. Join me at the Swim Beach Party at Fort Phoenix in Fairhaven from 7:30 am - 10am and help me celebrate. Hope to see you there! (Check the massage tent if you don't see me!)
If you prefer not to donate online, you can fill out this form and return it along with your payment to the Buzzards Bay Coalition, 114 Front Street, New Bedford, MA 02740. If you're sending a check, please make sure the swimmer's name is written on the check.
