"Postcards from Buzzards Bay" - Tri-County Symphonic Band
Fireman Performing Arts Center at Hoyt Hall

PRE SELL TICKET REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED.  TICKETS CAN STILL BE PURCHASED AT THE DOOR.

“Postcards from Buzzards Bay” is a celebration of the great body of water that shapes the lives of all who live and work in and around this wonder of nature.  The concert is a collaborative effort between four very different organizations that separately work to invigorate our community: The Tri-County Music Association, The Buzzards Bay Coalition, The Marion Art Center and The Community Boating Center of New Bedford.

The Tri-County Music Association commissioned Cape Cod composer Michael Donovan to write a piece that gives us musical perspective on the body of water that defines our area: “Postcards from Buzzards Bay.” This seven-movement work, to be premiered at the concert, takes us from Dartmouth to Woods Hole and brings to life the many ways that we encounter, embrace, and endure this wonderful bay. The concert will also feature other works written about the bay and about the sea including a premier by Rochester, MA composer John Wallace.
