Donate Today to Empower Potential!
Potential is everywhere. We don’t have to create it — we just have to defend it.
BBBSKC relies on staff, amazing volunteer mentors, and donors just like you to support over 1,300 Big and Little friendships in our community. When matched with a Big, 99% of Little Brothers and Sisters in Kansas City graduate high school on-time, and 84% report improved self-esteem.
Right now, there are over 300 Littles waiting for a Big. I’m working to reach my fundraising goal so these kids can be matched with a positive, caring mentor.
The BBBSKC program is free to Littles and their families, but it costs $1,500 to support a match for a year, and $250 to recruit each new Big. When you give, your generosity helps empower the potential of the next generation of college graduates, community leaders, and entrepreneurs. I hope you’ll join me in my efforts to defend the potential of kids in KC by donating today.
I am a Big, and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The bond that I have formed with my little, Isaiah, is unbreakable, and I hope to help create more matches with your help! I first met Isaiah in October of 2018, and after a couple of shy hang outs, Isaiah came out of his shell. Since then, we have bonded through our activities and discussing his future and goals. Isaiah wants to go to culinary school to learn how to cook and become a chef. One thing he expressed to me that he wanted to do was grill a steak. Isaiah and I cook often, and steak is still one his favorites. Isaiah has also formed a passion for percussion, and that is actually a passion of mine as well, so we spend time each week playing the drums together while learning to read music. We also love hanging out outside. We go fishing, play basketball, and sometimes just go for walks. Isaiah has taught me so much, and I look forward to being his Big! Thank you for your support!
