How do I register for Summer Bowl for Kids' Sake online?
-
Click the ‘Form A Team’ button on the homepage if you are going to be a Team Captain and find 5 team members to join your team. Click the 'Join A Team' button if you are joining a team that has already been created. A BBBSKC staff member can also sign you up over the phone — just call our Summer Bowl for Kids' Sake Coordinator, Paige Engle, at 913-957-9711 or email summerbowl@bbbskc.org for assistance.
I have registered and received a confirmation email but what’s my username and/or password?
-
Your username will automatically be sent to the email address you used to register. If you signed up to be pre-registered, your password will automatically be set to BBBSKC. Contact Hannah Neel for help logging in to your page.

I have questions about the website or my personal page. Where can I get help?
-
This document has answers to some of the most common trouble-shooting questions!
Do I need to personalize my webpage?
-
Yes! We highly recommend it. People who personalize their fundraising webpage are likely to receive more donations than those who don’t. It only takes a few minutes to add a personal picture and note about your relationship with BBBSKC or your personal mentor. Check out our fundraising toolkit for ideas!
Can you help me set up my personal webpage?
How do I schedule my team’s celebration?
-
We ask that all Team Captains find a date and time that works best for their team before scheduling. Team Captains, click here to see our celebration schedule and to reserve your spot.
I have a donor that is writing me a check. Who should the check be made out to?
-
All checks should be made out to BBBSKC. Please include your name and team name on the check so we know who should get credit for the donation.
What if I have less than 6 people on my team?
-
We encourage teams to have 6 members, as that is the quickest way to reach your $1,200 goal. However, you are more than welcome to participate if you have less than 6 people on your team.
I can’t form a team. How else can I help?
-
You can still support BBBSKC and participate in Summer Bowl for Kids’ Sake even if you don't have a full team. Simply click 'Form a Team' and on the second sign-up page, click the link in the bottom right that says, "join as an individual." You can help raise much-needed funds to benefit BBBSKC and help us reach our $725,000 Summer Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraising goal. You'll also qualify for the same individual prizes as all other participants!

How can my team qualify as a Super Team?
-
When you raise $2,400+ as a Summer Bowl for Kids’ Sake team, you’ll achieve Super Team status! Super Teams are entered to win a FREE team trip to Las Vegas, with hotel and airfare included, or Ooni Pizza Ovens for each team member!
What is the deadline to qualify for Super Team status?
-
To qualify for Super Team Status, your team has until July 29 to raise at least $2,400. When you raise $2,400, not only will you be invited to our exclusive Super Team Party, but you'll also be entered to win a free trip to Vegas for your team!
What if my team doesn’t reach the fundraising goal?
-
The team goal is $1,200, which is $200 per person on a 6-person team. The easiest way to raise the $200 individual goal is to find 8 people to donate $25.
How can I see who has donated to me and who has joined my team?
-
Sign in to your personal fundraising webpage at www.summerbowl.org and click the ‘Participant Center’ tab to view donors and teammates.
Can friends and family make a donation to me by going to the main website?
-
Yes! On the homepage of the website, friends and family can locate you by clicking on the ‘Donate’ button. By typing in your name, they will be directed to your personalized webpage.
Why is the ‘Donate’ search not finding a participant that I know has registered?
-
You must type in the first name or last name of the participant exactly how they entered it when they registered. Try using just the first few letters of someone's name if you're not sure how it's spelled.
Can donors give cash, checks or pledges?
-
Of course! You can enter cash, checks, or pledges into your personal fundraising webpage by logging in, clicking ‘Participant Center,’ scrolling down to the box labeled Personal Donations, and then clicking Add. We will bill for pledged donations after your team’s celebration. You can mail or deliver cash or check donations to Attn: Summer Bowl for Kids' Sake, 1709 Walnut, Kansas City, MO 64108.
Is there a fundraising deadline?
-
The short answer is, no. However, to receive individual and team fundraising prizes at your celebration, you must complete your fundraising by the date of your celebration. Our website will be up all year long, so you are more than welcome to continue fundraising after your celebration is over! To qualify for the Super Team Party, your team has until July 29 to raise $2,400.
Where does the money raised from Summer Bowl for Kids' Sake go?
-
100% of the money raised through this event stays right here in our community. We depend on the money raised from Summer Bowl for Kids' Sake to carry out the work of carefully matching children with caring adult mentors and providing ongoing support to the child, volunteer mentor and child's family. Check out our website to learn more about Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Some of my donors are not showing up on my personal page. Why?
-
Some donors prefer to keep their gifts anonymous. When someone makes a donation, they can choose if they would like to have their name, donation amount, and/or a message appear on your personal page.
Is my information secure?
-
Yes. Blackbaud has made every effort to protect your information. We use industry-standard SSL encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords, and personal information travel securely over the Internet. We have also installed an encryption engine on our database server so that your data is securely stored.
