In Memory and Celebrating the Life of Melinda Johnson
A loving wife, mom, and Gram, Melinda was a constant beacon of love, joy, and inspiration for all. She greeted everyone with Kentucky hospitality...a warm hug and a smile quickly followed with a question to know how you are doing. Immediately you would feel her genuine warmth in who you are and interest in your life.
On Friday, July 21st, 2017, Melinda passed on peacefully. Her wishes were clear. Don't mourn my passing, but celeberate my life.
And to properly do so, we need to talk about quilting! You know what we're talking about. She is loved for many of her wonderful traits, but we all know her passion for quilting. She loved to quilt!
We lost count a long time ago the number of blankets, pillows, and beatifully stitched quilts she has made. Melinda would spend hours - and many late nights - working her fingers and sewing machine to create, stitch and sew beautiful works. And she loved doing it! Family and friends are all blanketed by those works of love. We're also proud that she spent time creating quilts for veterans.
In memory of Melinda, we welcome you to post messages and if you so desire donate to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network in their continued effort to support those impacted by bladder cancer.
With love,
Melinda's family
