Right now, there is a crisis in cancer research funding here in B.C.
BC Cancer Foundation's core funding to the BC Cancer Research Institute is usually leveraged up to four times, as our scientists successfully apply for peer-reviewed grants from other sources. Because of the global economic crisis caused by COVID-19, many of those other funders have had to slash their grants leaving a significant gap.
The "Research Sustainment Fund" has been established to provide bridge grants to ensure critical cancer research activity can continue.
