Be the voice for our city’s pet dogs.

Pit Bull Image Legislative Alert

The pet dogs of Springfield need your help. The city council is about to take up the issue of repealing its outdated breed-discriminatory ordinance, and we need your help in convincing them that now is the time to take this lifesaving step.

The truth is that we all want to create a safe and humane city for people and pets alike. Unfortunately, the current ineffective law isn’t doing anything to help reach this goal. What it’s doing is tearing families apart and increasing the number of pet dogs who are needlessly killed in our shelter.

Please take a moment to send a message to your elected officials and let them know that you support the effort to repeal and replace this discriminatory law.

This is going to come down to numbers. The more of us who stand up and speak out on behalf of our dogs, the better our chances of success. But don’t stop there: Share this message on Facebook and Twitter with your Springfield friends and family.

Thank you for your support and for your voice. Together, we will Save Them All.

Dear [Decision Maker],

Dear,

I am a Springfield resident, dog lover and voter, and I want to urge you to vote to repeal the city's outdated and breed-discriminatory ordinance.

It's time for our city to reject discrimination and stand up for responsible dog owners and the pets they love. We are counting on you to protect our property rights. Please vote to repeal the breed-discriminatory ordinance.

Sincerely,
