MA Center for Unexpected Infant & Child Death

The Massachusetts Center for Unexpected Infant and Child Death, housed within the Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Boston Medical Center, has supported families across the Commonwealth since 1975.

The Center’s mission is to provide an individualized and compassionate response to families, professionals, and communities grieving an unexpected death during pregnancy, infancy, or early childhood. Support can look any number of ways, and includes direct phone support, peer-to-peer connections, connections to long-term resources, and provision of commemorative events. Accessing the Center’s services is completely free to Massachusetts families, regardless of their insurance coverage, ability to pay, or affiliation with Boston Medical Center. The Center also routinely conducts trainings for professionals looking to gain insight into the experiences of bereaved families.

We thank you for your support of our important mission. Our Center relies on the philanthropic support of our donors; we could not do this work without you.
