Edmonton Brain Tumour Walk 2019

PLEASE JOIN THE BRAIN WARRIORS.

It is our 3rd Annual Walk. Let's Celebrate Another Milestone & Walk!!

It is hard to believe that 2 years have passed since my mom, Lorraine Kirstein was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme also known as Brain Cancer. Glioblastoma Multiforme is the most common and most aggressive malignant primary brain tumour.  This disease is associated with a poor prognosis. Even with treatment, the median survival rate is 15 months.

I can still remember it, we were getting ready to celebrate Christmas when we began to notice signs that something was off with my mom. Gage (my daughter) was here and ready for her first Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa at the lake. Fast forward to emergency rooms, meetings with neurosurgeons, an extensive brain surgery and a scary diagnosis...here we are into our 3rd year.

We are beyond grateful that after pursuing the standard of care for over 1 year (Radiation and Chemotherapy followed by Chemotherapy alone) as well as pursing many forms of holistic and alternative treatment's, my mom's cancer has not reoccurred.

We reflect that while our path has not been easy, we are still here fighting when other's sadly, are not.

We want to find more treatment options, we want to find a way to support other's faced with this horrible disease and we want to find a cure.

Thank you to all those who have supported mom during this fight. We are not done fighting. We hope that you can donate and join us for this walk that means more than most of you could ever know.

We are so grateful for the support that we have received for the last two and a half years and look forward to another successful walk as the BRAIN WARRIORS.

We will meet in our "spot" (near the lake past the event stage) prior to the walk for a group photo and tons of hugs. After the walk please join us for some snacks, fun and good conversation.
