The Banff Jasper Relay is a very special event that will be celebrating its Anniversary in 2019.
The Banff Jasper Relay is dedicated to two very special friends - Garth Huck and David O'Brien.
Garth and David were avid runners and a big part of the relay ... and both lost their battles to brain tumours.
The founders of the Banff Jasper Relay, as well as their friends and family, have personally been affected by the tragedy of brain tumours,
which is why they feel especially passionate about the effort to raise funds for those affected.
They are so passionate that over the previous 14 years they have raised over $500,000 for brain tumour research!
In this anniversary year, all funds raised will be directed to a new resource that will be provided free of charge to caregivers of those affected by a brain tumour.
Being a caregiver is hard. Being a caregiver to someone affected by a brain tumour is so much harder.
“I was always terrified that Joe could die at any moment and I wouldn’t be there with him simply because I ran out to buy milk.
The whirlwind of emotions and stress that overcomes you as a caregiver is tough. You carry the weight of the world on your shoulders”
~ Corinna, caregiver to Joe.
Life can be tough on the brain tumour journey. But there is always HOPE! With your fundraising you will bring much needed hope to caregivers like Corinna!
If each runner raises just $75 dollars, that will raise $67,5000 for this project and help make this caregiver resource a reality!
