Welcome to My Personal Page
I am walking in honor of Jennifer (Jenn) Snavely, my beautiful, loving and vibrant sister and friend. In 2014, Jenn was diagnosed with an inoperable low grade brain tumor. After a year's worth of chemotherapy, the tumor remained stable with very little change for some time. Besides regular MRIs and constant experimentation with different medications/dosages to manage seizures caused by the tumor, Jenn's life went on more or less as it had before the tumor diagnosis. However, in the fall of 2017, MRI results indicated that Jenn's tumor was growing rapidly, and had developed into a high grade glioblastoma. Jenn immediately underwent a surgery to remove the most aggresive part of the mass, followed by six weeks of radiation. She was then treated with chemotherapy and Optune, a device worn on the head that creates electric fields to treat the glioblastoma. In the fall of 2019, the Optune treatment was discontinued, due to the tumor continuing to grow. Through it all, Jenn has remained unbelievably strong and positive with a firm faith that God is in control, and that he will take care of her and her family.
We need your help in this fight! National Brain Tumor Society will not rest until a cure exists- but more needs to be done. Please join in our effort! We would love to have you join us in this year's "socially distanced" walk. You can walk in your neighborhood, around the house, or even on a treadmill! If you are unable to do so, donations in support of finding a cure for this terrible disease would be greatly appreciated.
National Brain Tumor Society unrelentingly invests in, mobilizes, and unites our community to discover a cure, deliver effective treatments, and advocate for patients and care partners.
Conquering and curing brain tumors - once and for all.
