Our family's journey with brain cancer began in October 2018, when my husbands father, George, was taken to the ER after losing feeling in the left side of his body. Never did we imagine that it'd be a brain tumor that he had. He was transferred to UC Davis and having brain surgery within days. We were hoping for the best outcome, but with a Glioblastoma (GBM) diagnosis we were faced with little options, all of which would result in the tumor eventually returning. George lost his battle last March, after only 4 1/2 months of treatment. Because of how fast everything happened our family never fully had time to process, cope, or grieve...we are all still doing that in our own way. This year we walk for George.
No one diagnosed with GBM should have to accept a death sentence. George loved life and had a lot of living left to do! We would love for you to join our team and participate in a Virtual 5k walk to help raise money for research, in hopes that there will be more treatment options and one day a cure for brain cancer!
National Brain Tumor Society unrelentingly invests in, mobilizes, and unites our community to discover a cure, deliver effective treatments, and advocate for patients and care partners.
