Welcome to My Personal Page
I am honored to be part of this amazing event! Our daughter Mia is a seven year old brain tumor survivor. We are extremely thankful and lucky to tell her great story for those families that are going through difficult times. We would like to encourage our friends and family to help in this fight against brain tumors by supporting the National Brain Tumor Society.
Our brave Mia, is six years old, diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor on April 2nd, 2016. Her tumor was diagnosed and resected in the Miami's Children Hospital after an ER visit on our way back from Spring break vacation in Cancun. We came back home (Maryland) couple weeks after her surgery. Mia's tumor was very aggressive, hence, she required a very intensive six month chemotherapy treatment provided at the Children's National in Washington DC. In July 2016, Mia also needed a stem cell transplant, and later in Oct. 2016 she received 28 proton radiation treatments applied at the Proton Center of the Massachusetts General Hospital, which required the entire family to temporarily moved to Boston for over six weeks till the end of November 2016.
Despite of all the challenges and difficulties Mia and our family had, spending 57 nights hospitalized and complications such as the flu and stomach bacteria c-diff on three occasions, rotavirus, and numerous blood and platelets transfusions, Mia's last MRIs are showing no signs of tumors. We are extremely thankful and lucky to tell her great story for those families that are going through difficult times like our family did. Therefore, we would like to encourage our friends and family to help in this fight against brain tumors by supporting the National Brain Tumor Society.
