In the fall of 2010, our family received the scary news that our mom had a brain tumor. While the news was shocking and scary, the effects of the tumor had been prevalent way before the diagnosis. We were lucky the doctors caught it, and she had a successful surgery to return her to her normal self. A few years later the tumor reappeared, but again we were lucky for a successful procedure.
We are lucky that my mother received terrific care from great hospitals, and are lucky from all the love and support we received from family and friends. This walk is a great opportunity for us to help support others affected by brain tumors and help find a cure. We discovered this walk from our friend Danielle Drummond, who is walking as she is a survivor from her own brain tumor. We will be walking with her and her family in hopes to raise money and awareness together.
