I am uniting with others to make a difference in the fight against brain tumors. I am passionate about this cause, so I’m taking action. I need your help in this fight. National Brain Tumor Society will not rest until a curIe exists - but more needs to be done. Please join in my effort! In 2006 I was Diagnosed with a Brain Tumor and I had my first Craniotomy in March of that year. While recovering from that when they came in to take my vitals and asked how I was I said not good I came in here for a boil on my ass ! I have alway's approached this with Prayer and Humor hence the name of my Team. Anyway after surgery I was given Temodar chemotherapy I was told 99% of people continue to work and play sports unfortunately I was the 1% that could not even get out of bed ! After my first dose I needed a blood tranfusion due to my platelets dropping very low. The Temodar was worse than the surgery and I swore I would never do that again! Well I had recurrence in 2016 and was treated with Radiation. That only lasted 4 years and I had another recurrence last year in fact I was already scheduled for surgery at the time of last years walk. I had my second Craniotomy on May 23rd and this time a different surgeon was going to attempt to remove the entire tumor and it appeared that he had but scheduled me for Cyber Knife anyway. I was released from the Hospital on May 26th and was sent home only to return 3 day's later with severe abdominal pain. I was diagnosed with Ammonia deposits in my Gall Bladder and it would have to be removed but first a stent would have to be inserted to drain the deposits well the stent that was inserted gave me Pancreatitis and I had to wait until that was resolved to have my Gall Bladder removed. All this was probably due to the anesthesia. Now I had to have an MRI for mapping purposes and this was 2 weeks after the surgery and 2 nodules that were not there immediately following the surgery had come to the surface so it's a good thing they planned on Cyber Knife which is actually pin point Radiation there is no actual knife. Following that I was started on Temodar again the one I said I would never do again. Also they wanted to add another Chemo Drug just to be on the safe side by the name of Avastin. After 2 doses of Avastin my Blood Pressure went up to 220/120 and I was put back in the Hospital to get it under control. After about a week and 6 different BP Meds I was released from the Hospital. That weekend I was sitting out on my deck and passed out! I did not know that I was given 3 different BP Meds that also lowered my Sodium it was that that caused me to black out and landed me back in the Hospital this time in the ICU for 10 days. I am Happy to say after that I have not returned to the Hospital except for scheduled MRI's which have all been clear!! So this year more than ever I need your support so no one has to go through this !!! No amount is to small all donations are greatly appreciated!!! Sincerely, Brain Dead Ted :)
