Welcome to My Personal Page
My father passed away from brain cancer over six years ago, but his memory and the life lessons he taught me will always remain with me. He taught me the power of positive thinking. My father never gave up, and never gave in, regardless of what his prognosis was. He fought until the end, and inspired so many people with his drive and his zest for life. I constantly think about my father and always want to call him or stop by to let him know about something that is going on. I would love to hear his opinion on the healthcare fiasco, I wish that he could hear Yoni saying Kiddush on Friday night, or watch Ami make Hamotzi and cut the challah for everyone at the table. We miss him while watching the Ravens play, and I wish that he could come with us to Orioles games. Sometimes I just want a hug from my father, and I want to hear him tell me that everything is going to be alright. I miss him doing our taxes, and never making any comments about the information he learned about us from doing them. I miss HIM.
This will be our tenth (WOW!) year participating in the Race for Hope, and our fifth year without my father. I was having difficulty finding the motivation to do it again, but after speaking to one of my father's closest friends, I found it again. He reminded me about how important this race was to my father, and how he knows it means so much to him that we continue to work to find a cure for brain cancer. And so, in his memory, and in honor of all of those still fighting the fight, we once again ask for your support in helping to find a cure for this terrible disease. Nothing would make me happier than knowing that nobody else needs to lose their spouse, parent, grandparent, child, sibling, or friend to brain cancer.
This year's race is extra special to me, as Yoni is joining me as co-team captain as part of his Bar Mitzvah project. During this past year, I wrote a children's book about my father's life, "Shmuel Who Loved the Torah," illustratored by Yoni and Ami. The book is available for purchase on Amazon or directly through us, with all proceeds going directly to the race.
I would love to have as many people as possible join us on Sunday, May 5th in DC as we stand together with thousands of people to find a cure for brain cancer. Every dollar helps!
Please feel free to email me (email@example.com) with any questions about the race, donating, or joining our team.
Thank you for all of the support that you have given and continue to give to our entire family.
