Remembering Marilyn: Fighting for a cure 5 years on
In May 2014, my grandmother Marilyn was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme. After a nearly five-month fight, she passed away. She was brilliant and her loss was a devastating blow. Her battle was particularly difficult because there were few effective medical treatments available.
Finding a cure is an important cause to me. On May 5th, five years after her diagnosis, I am taking action in her memory by participating in the Race for Hope in Washington, DC.
Leveraging the combined efforts of The National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, Race for Hope is a fundraising initiative to find effective treatment options that result in a cure. Please join in my fundraising effort in Marilyn's memory!
