In May 2014, my grandmother Marilyn was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme. She passed away after a nearly five-month fight.
She was brilliant and her loss was a devastating blow. Her battle was particularly difficult because there were few effective medical treatments available. Hope was in short supply.
Finding a cure is an important cause to me. Advancements in treatment are being made, but require greater attention and support. For the fourth consecutive year, on May 3, 2020, I am taking action in her memory by participating in the Race for Hope in Washington, DC.
Race for Hope is a fundraising initiative to find effective treatment options that result in a cure. Proceeds benefit The National Brain Tumor Society. Please join in my fundraising effort in Marilyn's memory!
