Welcome! Be reMARKable
My reMARKable uncle, Mark Furst, was diagnosed with stage 4, inoperable Glioblastoma (brain cancer) in the fall of 2018. It’s never a great time to get a diagnosis like this, but it was especially heartbreaking because it came right after his oldest daughter announced her engagement. If you’ve ever met Uncle Mark, you’ll know he is a funny, charismatic man who will do anything for you. He’s dedicated his last 14 years to helping people – serving 12 years as CEO of The United Way of Maryland and the last two working with Kennedy Krieger. He’s a Loyola alum, the leader of my family and an all-around terrific man.
At times like this, it’s very easy to ask the question “why do such bad things happen to such good people.” My family isn’t succumbing to the negative though! My uncle remains positive every day. He’s attacking his bucket list and enjoying each day to the fullest. He’s an inspiration to me. This ordeal has taught me that it’s not important to sweat the small things – so what GrubHub screwed up your order?
To celebrate my uncle and to show him we are 100000% behind him please join my team, the reMARKables. The team will participate in the 2019 Race for Hope 5k in Washington, DC on May 5th. If you cannot participate in the race, please consider making a donation to our team. The proceeds go to the National Brain Tumor Society and ABC2 (Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure).
Help the reMARKables beat brain cancer by joining our fight!
