Welcome back to the Chesapeake Chasers. It is time to start planning for the 2019 Race for Hope, This will be our fourteenth year and sadly our second without Melissa. We continue to race every year in the hopes that other families will benefit from the research and progress in new treatments that are developed through these funds.
The Race is Sunday May 5 and we will meet as usual on Freedom Plaza across from the National Theater. This year will be different because we are not able to have lunch at Old Ebbitt due to renovations in the atrium. I have checked other locations downtown and there are no restaurants that can reasonably accommodate our group. I have reserved a room in the Clubhouse at Heritage Hunt (our new neighborhood) for brunch following the race. I realize this will be difficult for some of you and I understand if you do not want to join us for brunch or if you want to come for brunch and not attend the race. Both the race and the brunch are our way to celebrate Melissa. If you decide to come to the brunch and not the race, we have the room from 11:30 on Please let me know if you are attending one or both events. I am so sorry for the change but this seemed the best solution for this year. Hopefully next year we can go back to Old Ebbitt.
As always thank you for joining us whether in spirit or in person. Hope to see you May 5

The Race for Hope-DC, presented by Cassidy Turley, raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
We hope to see you May 5 for the race and brunch!
