In Memory of Emily Grossman

In September 2012, my mom, Emily Grossman, was diagnosed with a stage 4 GBM brain tumor. After a stunningly quick battle, my mom passed away on November 25th, 2012 at our family home in Florida, with me and my family by her side.

Brain cancer is fairly rare and gets just a tiny fraction of the amount of research funding that goes to more well-known cancers. Even the current treatment options for brain tumors like my mom's focus just on extending life expectancy a few months.

My mom was an incredibly fun and active lady who loved to garden and had just gone white water rafting for the first time. It was very hard to see someone so full of life become disabled and pass away from something so devastating and quick.

I'll be volunteering at the 2018 Race. If you're a runner or a walker looking for a great 5k course, I hope you'll join my team- I'd love to see you there! For everyone else, I hope you'll consider donating to the team so we can reach our fundraising goals and hopefully make a difference in the fight against brain tumors and brain cancers. Any amount helps!

The Race for Hope - DC presented by Cassidy Turley raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
