Cindy's Crew Team for 2019
This will be the 15th year that Cindy’s Crew will be participating in the Race for Hope. It will also be the first year that we will be participating without our captain, Cindy. As many of you know, Cindy passed away this summer. Cindy fought this terrible disease with such determination and will. It was truly amazing to witness this on a daily basis.
Cindy was first diagnosed in January 2005 with an inoperable Grade II astrocytoma. At the time of her diagnosis, her doctor said that her prognosis would be around 10 years. Throughout her 13 1/2 year journey, she endured two brain biopsies, six weeks of radiation, at least four MRI’s yearly, five different chemotherapy treatments and all the side effects from these treatments.
As difficult as it will be to participate in this year’s Race for Hope without Cindy; Elizabeth, Ben and I know how important this event was to her every year, and how much hope and inspiration it provided to her. Please consider joining Cindy’s Crew this year to honor Cindy and her fierce determination to beat the odds of this terrible disease.
