Friends of Carol Welsh - Super Survivor
This year's race will be virtual! You can join the race on Facebook Live just before 10:00 AM for a viewing of the virtual Wall of Hope. There will then be a 30 minute presentation, followed by an opportunity for everyone to do their own walks (or runs). Please wear an old race t-shirt, or let Margo know and she can send you one. Or - bring a mask and t-shirt and join us at a correct social distance at Carol's house for a walk with Carol. We'll keep you updated with details!
Carol is a Super Sister, Super Friend, and Super Survivor of a recurrent ependymoma brain and spine tumor.
Our wonderful dad called Carol "Super" right from the start - Super Baby, then Super Girl, then Super anything she happened to be doing! So calling her a Super Survivor - 20 years now - was a "no-brainer" (sorry, Carol.)
Since our first Race in 2004, our wonderful friends (including fellow Survivors Katie Gorman, Beth Beardsley, Erin Kalan, LJ Avalos, Margo Robbins and Don Young) have joined us to raise more than $195,000 for organizations dedicated to finding a cure by providing research funding for the brain tumor community. This year's proceeds will benefit the National Brain Tumor Society.
To join our virtual team, go to the green button on the right, and click on "Join Team." You can also just make a donation by clicking on the orange button "Donate to team" on the right, or click on any team member's personal page and donate to their page.
If you have any questions please e-mail email@example.com. As always, if you have friends or family who would like to join our team and/or make a donation, please send them our way!
We're partial of course, but Carol is an absolutely amazing woman and we love her very much. You can read her ependymoma journey on her website: http://www.adultependymomabraintumor.com/OnMyMind.html
See you on May 3 (the 20th anniversary of Carol's first surgery) and THANK YOU!
