2020 Race For Hope DC

Howard Homes

Welcome to Howard Homes 2020!

Thank you for donating to our team and the Race for Hope 5k! We have participated in this amazing event since 2004. This is a bittersweet event for me and our family. This race is equally inspirational as it is emotional. My father peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 after fighting until the very end to beat this disease. He was a true warrior, survivor, and my personal hero.

As many of you know, we have experienced a lot over the years with my dad's health; whether it is the resurgence of his meningiomas or trying new medicines for his multiple myeloma. Events like the Race for Hope have helped raise money for the precious research dollars that have directly benefited my family through the avant garde treatments my father has been part of throughout his 16 year battle with agressive, atypical meningiomas. So I cannot stress enough how critical it is to keep participating in this race and being part of this amazing organization. I will not rest until there is a cure for brain tumors and brain cancer, so there can be fewer families impacted by this awful disease.

A note to all my runner friends, this is a fast and flat 5k through the streets of our nation's capital.

I know finances are tight, but every little bit helps!! We'd love to grow our team even larger this year, so if you're not busy on Sunday, May 3 please come join our team, Howard Homes, in the fight against brain tumors!!

Much love,
Lucia Howard Patrone
