Askari wa Ubongo
We are the Askari wa Ubongo (Brain Warriors)! This year's Race for Hope marks 6 years of survival since Anika's medulloblastoma brain tumor diagnosis!
Anika was born and living in Africa, before she was diagnosed at age 7 with Medulloblastoma in 2013, and completed her treatment in September, 2014. Her family misses Africa very much, which is reflected in our team's Swahili name! Anika and her family feel strongly about supporting brain tumor research and data-based advocacy, so that in the future no child (or their parents) will have to go through what we did. We invite you to support our team!
About the Race for Hope:The Race for Hope - DC presented by Cushman & Wakefield raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!
