2020 Race For Hope DC

Shultz Strong

Our family has been impacted by cancer twice in the last four years.  In June 2016, our son Michael was diagnosed with Gliblastoma Multiforme (GBM).  His cancer was aggressive and he fought hard, but we lost him one year later, June 2017, at the age of 7.  We are heartbroken with his passing, but have vowed to continue to fight GBM by supporting organizations like the National Brain Tumor Society.

Last year (2019), Ed was diagnosed with a rare sinus cancer, Olfactory Neuroblastoma.  Once again, we were fighting cancer and having to do it in the same hospital and rooms where Michael was treated.  Thankfully, Ed is on the road to recovery and currently has no sign of cancer.

With these two cancer journeys we've learned the value of research and are committed to raising funds to support it. We will start 2020 fundraising efforts by walking/running in The Race for Hope - DC presented by Cushman & Wakefield.  This event raises funds to support innovative research initiatives and provide information for brain tumor patients and their families.
