HELP END GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

We are facing a crisis of increased gender-based violence.

Nearly half of women in Canada (44%) have reported experiencing some form of psychological, physical or sexual violence. This was intensified by the pandemic, leading to a huge increase in demand for services across the country.

And the increased violence has cost lives. During the pandemic, dozens of women across Canada have died at the hands of male partners or family members.

Together, we can end gender-based violence.

By making a gift today, you will enable community services across the country to do their life-saving work. The Canadian Women's Foundation provides grants to community organizations in every region of Canada who prevent and intervene in situations of gender-based violence. They do the complex work necessary to break the cycle of violence in families and communities providing services such as:

  • Emergency shelter
  • Housing support
  • Help to rebuild life after abuse
  • Sexual assault and exploitation crisis support
  • Child witness to violence programs
  • Healthy relationship education for teens

Your gift will also have double the impact today. For every dollar you donate, Green Shield Canada’s Room For Her program will make a matching donation (up to $30,000) until December 31.
