Rob Degoey | CAN you help me raise money for Canucks Autism Network?

7 years ago I was given the greatest gift of a young boy named Kayen who has changed our lives for the better. My son has taught me about compassion, acceptance and love at all costs.
At 3 years of age Kayen was diagnosed with Autism and as new
parents we were filled with thoughts of confusion and disbelief. How can this
young man who appears typical be diagnosed with autism.
We were presented with a aspects of the spectrum which compounded the anxiety for our young family. This opened the door to therapies, courses and lots of reading and of course opportunities for recreational activities.
One day we heard about Canucks Autism Network (CAN) and the
supports they offered to families with kids on the spectrum to participate in
physical programs which are guided by trained staff and decided to try out
skating. What a opportunity we stumbled upon!
Kayen is now riding a bike, he can swim and he is playing ringette. These are all things the doctors said he may not be able to do.
Because of CAN, Kayen has been able to participate in programs only typically developing kids would normally get to do. We have met other families who face similar struggles and joys and we know we are all
In this together.
Thank you to our supporters who understand the potential of these young children. Without you these programs could not happen!
Love,
Rob and Kayen.
