What is Relay For Life?

At the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life, students can step up, build school spirit and make a real impact — while learning valuable lessons about teamwork and giving back.

Relay For Life is your school's chance to host a fundraising event like no other. When you Relay, you are joining a national movement along with thousands of participants across the country who are committed to changing the future of cancer. This event gives you the opportunity to be a leader in your community, as you raise money for life-saving cancer research and important support services for Canadians affected by this disease.

So what is Relay For Life all about? At Relay, students come together to honour cancer survivors, and show that no one faces cancer alone. Relay involves participants and team members taking turns walking on a designated track, but the rest is up to you. Wherever your Relay takes place, we can suggest plenty of activities to keep participants busy. We're here to support you every step of the way — and make sure you have a blast!

With nearly 1 in 2 Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, we all know someone whose life will be changed by this disease. But together, we can make a difference at Relay For Life. Join students across the country, and help raise money to create a world where no one fears cancer!
